Apple Cider Vinger as an Arthritis Home Remedy

In the US, about 50 million people suffer from arthritic conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatic conditions and general joint pains. For many, joint pain is a common occurrence. Over-the-counter and prescribed medications can provide relief from pain caused by arthritis but can also have side effects that range from mild to severe. That is why many use home remedies for arthritis either instead of medications or alongside arthritis medications.

Lifestyle modification and dietary changes have been shown to provide benefit to overall health and in reducing inflammation. Also, home remedies can provide benefit for the joint pains associated of arthritis. Apple cider vinegar is one such arthritis home remedy.

Apple cider vinegar, also referred to as ACV, is a favorite home remedy  for many ails. Arthritis and other joint pain conditions is one such condition that ACV is said to provide relief in. Apple cider vinegar contains a virtual powerhouse of nutrients that provide nourishment to the joints. magnesium, iron, phosphorous, chlorine, sulphur, sodium, calcium, fluorine, trace minerals and silicon are of the vitamins and minerals found in apple cider vinegar.

A deficiency in minerals is often cited as a cause of joint pain. Apple cider vinegar can replace those minerals and vitamins lacking in the system. Potassium is one of the minerals especially beneficial, as potassium helps prevent calcium accumulation in the joints, which can cause the stiffening of joints. Raw and unprocessed apple cider vinegar also provides digestive benefits. Just one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, taken just before eating, improves absorption and digestion of food.

Arthritis is often associated with toxin build up in the joints. This build up can be due to an accumulation of metabolic waste in and around the connective tissue surrounding the joint. Inactivity only compounds the problem. Exercise that promotes range of motion and joint movement helps clear joints of accumulated toxins. The conundrum with people with joint pain is that they are sometimes not willing to move the joints, for fear it will add more pain. If you are leery of exercise, try apple cider vinegar instead. The pectin in ACV helps absorb and then remove toxins. The acidic nature of apple cider vinegar acts to purify and detox the body.

Unfiltered, unprocessed, organic and raw ACV is without question the best form to utilize. The vinegar should be ruddy-color with a noticeable amount of deposits suspended in the vinegar. This is the healthy build-up of beneficial minerals and nourishing substances. ACV in alternative forms, like pills, are inferior and less potent. The simplest way to incorporate apple cider vinegar into the diet is to blend about 3 tsp. in a tall glass of water, a couple times daily, shortly before eating. Sweeten by adding pure maple sugar or honey if you want. If you suffer from arthritis joint pain, apple cider vinegar may also double externally to relieve discomfort. It can also be used as a foot or hand soak by mixing up just one cup of apple cider vinegar and six cups of water, or by mixing apple cider vinegar with essential oil to be used to rub over affected joints.
