Most of us feel knee pain from time to time, especially after doing activities that involve a lot of running around and walking. But there are also many other causes of knee pain as well. It is necessary that you know the cause of your pain so that you can choose the appropriate treatment to relieve it.

1. Arthritis: Inflammation in the joints or arthritis can be the cause of the knee pains that you have. It is the most common of all the causes.

2. Baker’s Cyst: When the back of your joint is swelling, it is called Baker’s Cyst. One of its symptoms is knee pain.
3. Bursitis: If your bursa, which can be found around your knees, is affected you can really feel pain.
4. Plica Syndrome: This affliction could be the cause of your knee pain. It is hard to diagnose this disease because it can only be done with arthroscopy.
5. Osgood-Schlatter Disease: If the growth plate in front of your joint is irritated, you can get this disease and knee pain will occur.
1. Osteochondritis: Bone spurs around the joint.
2. Gout: A type of arthritis that causes arthritis pain in the knees.
If you feel knee pain, try these options for relief:
1. Rest: Stay off your aching knee for a while, whether you are experiencing front, side or back of knee pain.
2. Hot and cold therapy: You can apply heat and cold alternately.
3. Stretching: You can do this to strengthen your knee, improve its range of motion and get some pain relief as well.
1. Physical therapy: This can be done to gain back the functions of your knee joints.
2. NSAIDs: You can get non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce the pain you feel.
3. Cortisone Injections: This is a good way to get relief from the pain. Consult your doctor for more information and availability.
